Easter Island Approximately 500 years ago, the flourishing society of Easter Island suffered a steep decline in population. Many theories have surfaced explaining how this could have happened to such a thriving culture. Within this small, isolated island

The article states that invaders are responsible for the decimination of Easter Isalanders and supported it with three reasons. However, the professor doesn't approve this theory for destuction of Easter Isalanders and refutes each of the three reasons.

First, the article states that invaders were responsible for the disapperance of trees on the island. However, the professor doesn't think so and refutes this point by stating that diffrent communities present over the island want to prove their cultural dominance and to show their dominance they form statues which were travelled using tree logs. In that process more and more trees were get cut down. So, competition between the communities were responsible for the destrcution of trees over the island

Second, the article avers that dicovery of spear tips and skeltletons from that time shows that their would have been combat between the islanders and invaders. However, to cast doubt on this claim the professor states that spear tips were not formed for the combat but for the defensive purpose. Due to depeltion of food resources on the island there was civil war between the diffrent communities for the limited resources.

Third, the article claims that new birdman religion proves that invading forves had occupied a new territory with its customs, culture and religion. However, the professor discard this claim by staing that new religion were formed by islanders not by the invaders. Due to difficult times such as war and family issues islanders facing on island they think that current religion is not sufficient to provide them necessary solution and this need gives rise to new birdman religion.
