Groupthink

He says that group brainstorming produces horrible and irrational decisions because individuals do not agree with some idea. As a result, they feel uncomfortable.
Secondly, the author states that it is a great for sharing opinions and knowledge between workers. However, the lecturer refutes this by asserting that the thoughts of many employees are ignored in the group. Moreover, groups might consider themselves as unbreakable to the opinion of one person, and they think of them as smarter than others.
Finally, it is claimed in the passage that group decision making increases interest in members and promotes ideas to flow. On the other hand, the professor posits that a group reassures that their position is the best, but it is a disaster. He elaborates on this by providing one example of a fail in 1950, when a decision was taken by a group. Consequently, the consumers were not attracted by the announcement and a motor’s company income decreased significantly.
