The reading and lecturer are both about the group think which help to solve the assigned task. The author of reading mentions the advantages of the group decisions. The lecturer challenges the claims made by the author. He is the opinion that group think has some disadvantages which leads to disaster decisions.

To begin with, the author argues that group can pool their intellectual resources to lead to superior decisions. The article also mentions that group discussions leads to different and in-depths approach to dealing problem and coming with ideas. This specific arguments is challenged by the lecturer. He claims that decision made by individuals are often ignored by the management. Additionally, he says that individual think group decision are irrational and predicts the outcome to be unsatisfactory.

Secondly, the writer suggests that group think leads to wide exchange of ideas and information among each other. In the article, it is said that individuals tends to bring a large variety of skills, knowledge and interests. The lecturer, however rebuts this by mentioning that, they started feel invulnerable. Finally, the author posits that group think encourages or motivate team members. He extends by giving example of ford company which was intended to bring revolution in automobile but fails to deliver and was on the verge of bank corrupt.
