The reading illustrates that because of the private collectors present a menace for the fossils and development for the scientists and the general public . The professor contradicts this claim by theses strong evidence.
Firstly, in the reading, it is said that since the large number of the fossils will be bought by the private collectors, it is hard consition for the people to see the fossil. In contrast, the professor claims that with the most fossils that will be founded using this trade, more people and private schools could buy it and therefore, there are many fossils to access to visit.
Secondly, even though the reading claims that in this case, the scientists lose the most important resources to study about the fossils, those important fossils will be evaluted before to be purchased using the commercial market. Therefore, it is not a menace for the future of fossils study,
Thirdly, although the passage says that the commercial fossil collectors often destroy valuable scientific evidence associated with the fossils they unearth. However, the professor belives that without the private collectors, very fossils will be undiscovered. Therefore, the private collectors lead to increase the number of the fossils available for the people.
