The article states that employees in the United States typically prefer to work five days a week for eight hours per day but many employees want to work only four days week even they like to accept less pay than the normal pay. Also, the statement provides three reasons for support. However, the professor explains that this change will not work and it will create a problem economically and in the life of employees and he refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the reading claims that this benefit will increase company profit because employees will feel more rested and alert, for this error will decrease and company can hire more employees. But the professor refutes this point by saying that company has to pay more money for those additional employees because training and medical benefits are also necessary for those employees. He also states that even more employees means it needs more space and computer, so definitely company profit will reduce.

Second, the article posits that this change will reduce unemployment rate. However the professor says that this four days plan will enhance the unemployment rate. According to him, additional employment will enrich expectation to work same amount of work in overtime and therefore job will become unpleasant. That will be the cause of unemployment rate.

Third, the reading says that this four days plan will improve the quality of lives for individual employees because they will get free time to spend with their families or pursuing any private interest or doing any activities. But, the professor opposes this point by explaining that it is very risk, also it will reduce their quality of lives. We also learn that this plan will decrease the job ability and it will not help for their promotion because company prefers a manager who likes to works five days plan.
