Integrated writting- Altruism
The text belives that the individuals involved in altuistic acts gains no benefit and they act selfless. BUt the lecturer is not convinced with the fact based on the detailed recent studies done on Meercat behaviour. She is of the opinion due to couple of reasons explained here.
First of all, lecturer concluded on the basis of closed study on Meercat that sentinel is the one who got importance and eat first, before guarding.In contrast text states that sentinel goes without food and guards others and that is contradicted by lecturer.
Another, opinion given by the lecturer is sentinel is the first who sense the danger, is the first to run after alarm and running alone to burrow is easy as compared to running in crowd.So,again disagrees on the view of text about senitels selfless behaviour that running alone post more danger.
Altogether, the lecturer also puts the point on Human's higest altuirstic behaviour.An extreme altuistic behaviour by human is giving kidney to relative or a stranger. But the person gets appreciation from the society and also feels the sense of self worth that is very valuable to some people.
SO, the lecturer's view is logic and sound that individuals performing altuistic acts also gain some or the other benefit on other hand.
