it is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends
Some people claim that it is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends. In my opioion, I think it is important to make new friends instead of just keeping friemdship with old friends for following three reasons.
First of all, meeting new people gives everyone a new esperience and an exposure. If one just keeps hanging out with old friends then they will never be able to come out their comfort zone. For example, I changed my school in 5th grade where I made many new friends and I got to know about them. It was a very new experience for me and learned a lot from them. New people can make you learn so much one may never know in their life.
Secondly, you may never know how close you can get to new person as they can relate to your things and similarly they can relate to yours. This will only be known once you meet and make new friends. For example, I met my a friend in a drawing class and one day we were sitting next to each other and we started talking. Then we realised that we had a lot in common like food habits, family background, hobbies, etc. Once you know someone then you realise how same or different is that person from you.
Lastly, it is not always true that you can feel comfortable with old friends but once you take a risk of meeting new people the dynamics can change for the better. People meet their soulmate randomly and it is said you meet right person at the right time. So you have to keep hustling for that and rsk is something you have to take without which one may never be able to meet anyone. For example, I intered at a company as software developer and I was very new to this professional field but I met a person who soon became my go to person in company. I wouldn't have found him if I didn't take the risk and gathered courage to make new friend.
In conclusion, I think it is very important to make new friends and not just hang out with old friends and give importance to them. Although old friends are of great impostance as they know us from very long time and they are our go to person and comfort people.
