Both reading and lecture discuss the possibility of living on other planets but earth as Venus. While author is thoroughly opposed the whole accommodation idea, the lecturer justifies the obstacles elaborately.
First of all, the various pressure on Earth and Venus has been disputed. According to the text, atmospheric pressure at Venus is significantly higher than Earth, which leads to the crush of spacecraft at the very beginning of landing. Although lecturer confirms this fact, he suggests to locate the stations 50 Kilometers above the surface, where the pressure is as of the Earth. Moreover, he suggests this stations to be floated as balloons in the air.
Second subject discussed is the most vital factor for every human being resistance: water and oxygen. It's given that the abundant chemical substance on Venus is carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfuric acid, but according to the lecturer it's totally practical to utilize this chemical materials in order to make water and oxygen.
Third, in spite of existence of clouds which reflects 60% of sunlight mentioned by author, lecturer points out that for one thing since this clouds are not very thick, and the possibility of having balloons in the sky for another thing, it's applicable to use reflection for generating electricity not only from the top, but also from the bottom of the clouds. By taking to the action of this method, the urgent need to energy will be acquired.
