silver coins belong to Norse found in North America
Both passage and lecture disscus a discovery in 1957 which made the archeologist suprised, since it shouldn't be there. Many people assumed that European explorers like Norse has brought it all he way from Europe to North America one thousand years ago. Nevertheless, some archeologist cast doubt about this assumption by providing some reasons. According to the text, these clues comprised long distance,absence of other object attained and lack of requirement to use European sivler coin. The lecturer justifies these points by mentioning reasons below:
First, author and lecturer dispute the distance issue. Although both parties believe the distance between North America and Norse location is so far, they concluded in two opoosite ways. Author considers it impossible to reach that area by Norse. Contradictory, lecturer oppose to this idea by declaring the other objects has known to be found in near territories as eastern Canada, which proves writter to be thoroughlwrong
Second, Albeit lecturer agrees that there were no other silver coin found, she recall that during the immigration back to Europe, Norse took all their valuable stuff returned, hence to cliam it as a clue to refuse their presence is totally wrong.
Third, in spite of author's view who claim North Americans didn't regard silver coin as money, lecturer refrain to accept it by asserting this silver could be utilized for beauty, as manufacturing neckless and other ornamental stuff. Thus, there's no wonder that they trade it with Americans.
