In contrast to the Reading passage, which emphasizes on reduced number of people interested on literature and poems and provides three reasons of support, the professor claims people are involve on other form of intellectual programs and refutes each point made in the reading.
First, the reading claims that people now are less interested on literature which extend the knowledge and intellectuality of the people. However, the professor refute this point, she claims that people now a days are involved in study of history, scientific facts which is not literature though enhance the intellectuality of the person.
Second, the reading posit that people are involve in nonintellectual acts such as listening to music, movies and superficial reading. The professor opposes this point by saying that a good plot of movies, music improves the imaginative capability and knowledge; not actually the waste of time.
Finally, the reading states that good literature work is dying due to lack of sufficient audience. However, the professor claims that difficulty and complexities in understanding the modern literature is the reason behind decreasing audience.
