Both the reading and the listening discuss city development land. The article states that it will benefit the small city. However, the lecture opposes specific points made in the reading passage. The professor says that he is part of the member of the council and he is protesting against the propose.
The first point the professor makes is that the land will destroy the view of the city. He elaborates that it should be converted in a plan to do another thing. As an example he says that it should be converted ia a park to preserve the nature in order to attract more people. This point opposes the point made in the reading passage. The latter states that the residential area nearby will obrigate people around and enhance the view of the area.
Furthermore, the professor points out that goods will cost much more. he explains that it is very unfair and crazy because not everybody will be able to end one's meet. Developers only want to make money but do not care for others. This opposes the information made from the reading. According to the passage the building development will solve everybodies' drawbacks.
Finally, the lecture states that the city needs more green space not less. This point opposes the reading's key point. According to the article the project will attract more profits to the city.
