TPO-40 - Integrated Writing Task

The reading passage and the lecture are both discuss about the human presence on venus. The passage show three reasons why human cannot survive on venus. Yet, the lecture proposes another three reasons on human can still live on the venus by some substitute methods.

First of all, the reading argues that the atmospheric pressure on venus is ninety times greater than Earth, thus everything that land on the venus will eventually crushed and couldn’t stand by this heavy pressure. The lecture refutes that it can established a floating station above 50 kilometers surface on venus which pressure is equal to the Earth.

Secondly, the reading say that there’s no water reservoir and the low content of the oxygen which may result from human cannot survive without these two important factors, what’s more, the atmosphere of the venus were mostly made up of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfuric acid which indeed not suitable for human to live. On the flip side, the lecture holds opposite opinion on this issue, we can solve these problems by using other chemical materials.

Lastly, the reading show that sixty percent of sunlight will be reflected back into space owing to the obstruction of those thick clouds and only forty percent can finally get through the clouds in terms of this problem people cannot produce the electricity and face the lack of light. However, the lecture argues that by establishing stations can have the access to get the light.

In short, both of the reading and the lecture had their own perspectives toward this issue, there’s no right or wrong, it all depends on what human think.
