TOEFL integrated writing: work a four-day week.

The article states that a mandatory policy requiring companies to offer four-day workweek is going to be more beneficial for both companies and individuals. The professor explains that reducing the number of working days in a week will not benefit any one and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading sates that four-day work week will increase the companies profit. The professor refuted this point. He states that this policy will cause companies to spend more rather than increasing their profits. For example, companies will hire new workers to compensate for the deficiencies, and these workers will need training programs, offices, computers as well as medical insurances, which is going to be the same for all kind of employees.
Second, the article claims that unemployment rates will decrease if companies followed the four days rule. However, the professor says that it is not necessary for the employers to hire new employees. Simply, They may have the choice to offer overtime or to raise hopes to get the amount of job done in only four days. So, this will not require neither new jobs nor new workers.
Third, the reading claims that workers will have more free time, and that is important for the refinement of their lives quality. In contrast, the professor says that lessening working days have some risks, which may jeopardize the excellence of their lifelong. In addition, they may lose their chances in improving their career or having their jobs stabilize. On top of that, four-day workers will not only be the first to lose their jobs in case of economic crises but also deprive the possibilities of them getting promoted.
