The professor in the lecture doesn't think that allowing the option of four-day job could help increase the company profits, reduce country's unemployment rates, and render more happiness for individual employees.

Firstly, unlike the passage said that the company payroll cost would be the same, the company would increase their cost. Consider the individual employee. If company hire more employees, it must pay more money to training the green birds. Meanwhile, the employers must cover more medical costs for their increasing employees. In that case, the profit maybe even decreases.

Secondly, employees also have many other difficulties that lead them less rested and alert. For example, the employers may pay more expectations on them because of the less working time. The former may hope these employees perform more efficiently, even finish the quantity of work as same as before. Then, the faults may become more unforgivable. Such pression may lead the employees feel stressful.

Furthermore, except the pression on their jobs, these employees have other risks. They may lose the expected ability to the work because the less time they paid on it, which may be harm to their career. In other words, the chances are that they may lose their jobs because their poor preformation. In such case, their life cannot be happy, too.
