TPO-02 - Integrated Writing Task In many organizations, perhaps the best way to approach certain new projects is to assemble a group of people into a team. Having a team of people attack a project offers several advantages. First of all, a group of people

In the passage above describes the benefits of teamwork as opposed to individual work. Working as a team achieves higher quality and creative results whereas working individually is restricted to fewer skills.

In Teamwork, everybody gets a chance to contribute in decision making with different ideas and expertise bringing up good end results however, this can also lead to members making risky decisions. This is because if the end result is not favorable then the group as a whole will be responsible.

Professor supports both the benefits and drawbacks of teamwork further explaining that teamwork leads to productive decisions, includes creative ideas and ability to communicate with each other to come to a better conclusion. However, working in a team also leads to disagreements among the members and it may cause unnecessary delays because of too much of idea sharing and not making a quick decision. Also, there are some free loaders that do not contribute but get benefit for the work done by other mates. This is a demotivating factor for those who work hard but do not get individually recognized and end up with shared reward.

He supported this with an example that the team made a decision that was too risky and the outcome was not certain. Some of the member highlighted the uncertainty of the decision however, they were ignored. Well, as a result the project failed and the complete team was blamed for it. The team did not carefully thought about the uncertainty highlighted by some members causing poor decision being made.
