TPO-07 - Integrated Writing Task In an effort to encourage ecologically sustainable forestry practices, an international organization started issuing certifications to wood companies that meet high ecological standards by conserving resources and recyclin

The article states that unlike other wood companies around the world, wood companies in the United States don’t attract to have Eco-certified and use it for their advertisement. The reading provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that it is attractive for these companies to receive eco-certified and refutes each of the author’s reasons.
First, the reading claims that American people do not trust advertisements anymore and companies won’t take advantage of having this certification in their ads The professor refutes this point by saying that American people distinguish between ads don’t treat ads the same. He states that people have the confidence in this certification and understand the value of having these for wood products.
Second, the article posits that products which have this certification are more expensive than others. However, the professor says that is obvious those are expensive but their price is not much as higher as others. According to the professor, it’s worth to pay higher to protect our environment.
Third, the reading says that this certification is only for companies want to trade abroad. The professor opposes this point by explaining that wood business is wide. He explains that there are many wood companies that compete with each other. If companies in the United States ignore abroad markets and do not take part in a foreign competition, finally they lose their market even in internal markets.
