Both the lecture and the passage are about causes of the declined sea otter populations in Alaska. The article claims that pollution of environment and attacks by wild animals are to likely explanations and provides three reasons of support. Nevertheless, the professor states prediction theory is a better explanation and refutes each of author's claim by giving real life explanations.

First, the writer claims analyzed water of Alaska cost shows increased chemicals on water and that can kill the sea otters. The professor refutes this point. She states nobody did not found the dead sea species on Alaska. Moreover, this also shows wild animals did not kill any sea otter in the cost.

Second, the author states died sea otters may affect other sea animals as well this points out the environmental pollution. On the other hand the professor casts doubt onto this claim by stating because of the human hunting sea whales become wipe out. That situation force to orca to change the diet. Now orca hunt other sea mammals instead of sea whales.

Third, the passage claims pollution theory also explain uneven pattern of other reduce of sea species in Alaska. Conversely, to this claim professor states prediction theory is better explanation of prediction theory. She states orca is huge whale. Because of the size orca can not access everywhere. Some place have stable population because of orca can not hunt in that place.
