The reading passage and lecture are both about less reading of books is recognised in today's world also it directs to decline culture in usual. The article strongly postulates that especially in novel-writing is mostly neglected adversely by the public. On the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that it is not somewhat persuasive critics because of several compelling reasons.
First and foremost, According to the author of the excerpt that reducing public reading causes a lack of instigation and mental stimulation which are given by literature. Nonetheless, The professor offsets these points by declaring that there are many high-quality books which give fairly good vision about everything such as history and political which include great scientific knowledge compared to the novels and poems.
On top of this, The professor in the listening elaborates by bringing up the point that paying attention in the tv, music or movie is not declining the culture worthwhile in reality, in other words, it may encourage to learn from the culture through listening to a piece of charming music and watching an exceptional movie. these claims refute the writer's implications which people prefer to spend their time on the tv or online platforms, thus they readily absorb poor information and knowledge from it.
The text lastly insists that pure talented writers are ignored by the audience so they aren't sponsored by investors. The speaker in the lecture counters these indications by asserting that it is also the author's mistake because most of the modern writers' productions are incomprehensible to ordinary people so there is no reason to encourage them.
