The reading states that the painted portray is famous English novelists Jane Austin and provide three reason for it. Contrary, the professor do not agree with the reasons and say the mentioned reason can hardly prove this subject.
First, the reading states that family of the June Austen believe the portray is June and because of that they use this portray along with her letter. In contrast, the professor cast doubt on this point. He explains that this authorization does not mean portray is June. Moreover, he says the June Austin died 70 years ago and his remain family did not see June since he died long time ago. So, they do not know how June look like and they cannot say this painting is her.
Second, based on the reading, the overall shape of the face of the sketch is very identical to painting. Cassandra, sister of June Austen draw the sketch and since they are familiar this new painting is Austen. However, the professor claims that it is possible that person in the painting be family of June Austen. June Austen have a lot of family and after many years it is plausible that one of her cousin resemble June Austen’s Face and looks like her. Therefore, maybe the person in the portray is relative of June.
Third, the article claim that it is true that the painting is without any sign and date. But, there are evidence that the June Austin in that time was a young teenager like the portray. Nevertheless, the lecturer states that stamp and canvas of the portray did not existed in that time. When June Austen become 27 years old that kind of materials was for them to use. Therefore, it is imposiblle that young teenager be June Austin.
