TPO 12 - Jane Austen Portrait

Actually, both the passage and the lecture comment about a portrait which is known as a picture of Jane Austen who is a renowned novelist and the face and style of her is ambiguous. Although the passage brings three reasons in order to prove the claim that the portrait is related to Jane Austen, the lecturer puts those statement under question. According to the professor expression, none of the reasons are convincing.

First, as the passage illustrated the picture have been painted Jane because the family members have acknowledged. The professor; however, refutes the claim by emphasizing the fact that family members who are questioned, have lived 70 years after the time when Janes dead.

Next, as the passage mentioned both the portrait and Cassandra's sketch- the picture which has been painted by an amateur artist- contain similar shape; hence, the mentioned portrait includes Jane's picture. Nonetheless, the professor dismisses the statement, by adding the thought that Jane family was wide enough that the portrait can be painted from others such as Jane's nieces who was extremely similar to her.

Finally, the passage endorses the Full-length portrait by focussing on other components of that including Ozias Humphery. On the contrary, the lecturer believes the portrait hasn't painted when Jan was teenagers because there at least one evidence that confirms his claim. The leg which can be seen in the photo existed when Jane was 27.
