The lecture and the reading both discuss cane toad.While the reading states that cane toad can protect farmers' crops but the population of cane toad every day becomes more and more and it causes some problems such as threaten small animal .The lecture refutes this,saying that the measures have been proposed are unsuccessful and this masseur damage environment.
Frist of all,the reading claims that one way to prohibit toads in the land are by using national fence because they do not have any colonize and this method used before for spreading of another animal such as rabbits.However,the lecture argues that the fence won't stop the spared of toad because the toad especially young toad carry from one side to another side by streams and rivers.
In addition, the reading makes the argument that the volunteer can capture and ruin all of the toads.According to the reading,the volunteers can capture easily by hand and traps and if people get to gather,they can stop spreading of the cane toad.The lecture counters this point by stating the massive of the volunteers could not capture toads and also this volunteer destroys the Australian frog.According to the lecture using of the traps are not easy.
Lastly,the reading passage argues that researcher tries to develop a diseases virus that prevents the population of toads. This virus is able to infect other animals such as reptiles but not harmful just for toads.The lecture refutes this claims by pointing out that using virus is a bad idea because dangerous for original habitat.According to the lecture,this virus transported of Australia and attack to the native animals.
