First, the passage posits that Torreya can be saved by planting them in the Northern Florida which has wetter and cooler climate as compared to the surrounding region's which is relatively dry,warm climate. The lecturer refutes this point by saying that this soution is not going to work as the wetlands of Northern Florida have been dried out due to global climatic changes.
Second, the article mentions that growing Torreya in totally different cooler area can help them to flourish. On the contrary, the speaker rebuts this point by giving an example of the black locust tree which was tried to grow in the new environment. It grown so fast that it killed other endangered plants of the area. Thus, the movement of plants or trees may have unpredicted consequences.
Third, the reading says that Toerrya can be grown in the reasearch centers in the controlled environment. The professor refutes this by saying that large and diverse population may contract diseases thus, may not able to survive in the long term.
Clearly, the disparity exists between the reading and listening but the lecturer provides more legitimate and tangible facts. Thus, the passage fails to justify its point towards professor.
