Base on the reading and listening, cedar trees are reducing base on some hypothesis which is mentioned is reading but it has high contradiction with the lecture.
First of all, the author claims that insects are one of the main factors which cause the cedar trees to die. However, the professor disagrees with this hypothesis and he believes that most of these trees are resisted to insects and poisoning them so as a result, this cant is the case of declining the number of cedar trees.
Secondly, the writer states that brown bears are another factor to decline the cedar tree numbers. however the professor doesn’t agree with this idea and he says the declaration of this kind of trees is not because of brown bears because in Ireland also declaring of this trees were sensed but no brown bear was there, in fact, the brown bear wasn’t the reason to reducing the number of cedar trees.
Thirdly, the author claims that climate-changing is one of the reasons which is mentioned. however, the professor claims that if changing climate has an effect on reducing its number and in clod weather they die more but they can see that most of the cedar are dying in warm weather which is contradictory to what the reader says.
