First of all, the author states that diclining may be caused by insect parasites ike bark beetle. İt is mentioned that beetles kill yellow cedars by attacking cedar trees.This point is challenged by the lecture. She says that Bark beetles are powerful chemicals.Furthermore, she argues that bark beetle attack the tree that was already attacked.
Secondly, The passage points out that Brown bears can be responsible fort he yellow-cedar decline.
He notes the bears could destroy the trees by clawing at it to eat the tree bark. The lecture rebuts this argument. She suggests that bears cannot be responsible to decline yellow cedar.
She elaborates on this by mentioning that tree barks were in İlands, while there are not bears in ilands.
Finally, the author mentions that changing temperatures n North America could affect the decline.He is of the point that surface roots start growing in the late winter rather than in early spring. Also, roots are sensitive Therefore likely to suffer damage from partial freezing on cold winter. The lecturer, on the other hand, states that the temperature change according to elevation. She puts forth the idea that the temperature is warm in lower elevation and cold in high elevation.
