TPO 27 integrated essay

In the lecture, the professor explains what are the possible causes of the little ice age, which contradicts the reading arguments.

First, the professor states that scientists discover that disruption of the ocean current could cool only Europe and North America, while the ice age affected southern areas like New Zealand. This refutes the article which claim that the disruption of the oceans currents may have been the cause for cooling the earth.

Second, although that volcanic eruptions produce a tremendous amount of dust, which may have reduced the temperature, but it has visual effect. Which proves that it is not likely the cause of the little ice age because there is no evidence of people's report for such effect during the ice age. This challenges the text, which asserts that volcanic eruption could have caused the Little ice age.

Finally, the speaker mentions that there was no enough time for forests to reduce the effect of the green house gas because human's population started to kick up shortly after The little Ice Age, so people would cut more wood and trees to supply for their living. The reading, on the other hand, states the decreases in the human populations allowed forests to grow more and cooled down the weather indirectly.
