TPO 29-INTEGRATED TASK

In the reading passage, the author proposed three arguments for supporting the migration hypothesis of edmontosaur. however, the speaker did not agree with the statement. The speaker spoke against the arguments for three reasons as well.

First, in the reading passage, the lacking diet supporting is the major issue for edmontosaur 's survival which leads them to migrate to a warm place where to find food. however, the speaker points out the weakness of the hypothesis. The temperature in 1000 years ago was warmer than today in North Slope. It offered a suitable living condition for edmontosaur. Besides, the sunlight sustained for 24 hours in summer, which enforced the plants to grow up well during summer. Thus, they could survive during winter feeding on dead plants.

Second, the passage indicated that edmontosaurs lived in a herd which was corresponding to the habits of other modern-day migratory animals. Nevertheless, the speaker demonstrated shreds of evidence that animals living in a herd are for other purposes like protection themselves. For example, a certain kind of animal lives in a herd in the united stated does not migrate during winter and stay in the same place.

Third, the paragraph asserts that edmontosaurs were capable to migrate in a long distance to reach more hospitable regions. But, the speaker noticed that the juvenile in the group may not be able to move in long distance. Moreover, at a slow pace, the juvenile in the group also slowed down the speed of migration.
