The lecturer casts doubts on the reading which states that Edmontosaurs migrated during winter months because Alaska's Noth slope did not have living condition. First of all, the author points out that Edmontosaurs were plant eaters and hence they moved to different places, as plants doesn't grow in colder places. The lecturer was challenged by this point. She says that Arctic climate was warmer one hundred million years ago and had sunlight 24/hr. So, it had many plants vegetation there. In such case,Edmontauraus had access to plants in the summer. In addition to that, they also had many dead plants during winter where these dinosaurs fed on to get essential nutrients.
Secondly, the lecturer rebuts the argument that Edmontosaurs lived in herds and they migrated to farway places. However, she says that animals that live in herds do not necessarily need to migrate. But they do so for protection. In addition to that, she points out that modern animal called roosevelt that live in herd do not migrate.
Finally, the lecurer posists on the claim that author was making about the point that Edmontosaurs are efficient to travel long distances, because of its large bady and it capability of running fast. The lecturer says that young one of Edmontosaurs were not capable of walking such a long distances. Hence, she doubted that Edmontaurous left their young ones behind. She assures that adult edomtasaurs stayed with juvillene in the Alaska's North slope.
