Tpo- 39-1

The reading claims three reasons which are culprit of a mass-extinction of more than half of all living organisms. While the professor believes that the mentioned reasons are unconvincing and rejects them.
Firstly, the reading asserts that declining of sea levels is a theory about this exticion. While, the professor elucidates that although the scientists prove that the increasing the see level can damage the shallow and coastal species, but this extinction is about all species such as deep species. Furthermore, the decreasing the see level take million years which species can adopt themselves, while this mass-extinction was suddenly. therefore, the declining of see level which is occurred gradually was not blamed for sudden mass-extinction.
Secondly, the second passages' theory is related to massive cooling which the professor introduces that S02 after a short time when combined with the rain come back to the earth and after that the atmosphere is clean. Hence, the So2 which is realized to atmosphere by volcanic activity do not remained for a long time to create climate Colling.
Eventually, the third theory involves an asteroid strike, however the professor claims that any asteroid strike has not been found which can be adapted with the date of mass-extinction. Though, the recent discovery is associated with 12 million years before mass-extinction.
