If this permanent station establishes, it would absorb required components, and makes huge amounts of water vapor and oxygen, which leads to remove the demands for importing these two substances.
The final point of contention between the reading and the listening passage is sunlight reflections. The author thinks that only 40 percent of the sunlight can cross the thick clouds, and the density of carbon dioxide below these clouds prevent any solar power cells from generating electricity power for any machine. On the other hand, the speaker explains that clouds in 50 kilometers above the surface are not as thick as bellower ones, which helps significant amounts of sunlight get through the clouds. Thus, the station can use not only the crossed sunlight but also, the reflected sunlight from below for generating power.
