The first theory that the passage states is the agnostids were free-swimming predators. On the other hand, the professor in the lecture casts doubt on this idea and states that the fossils of agnostids have not any evidence of hunting. Hence, they were not hunters because they were poor in predation tools.
Second, the passage asserts that the agnostids probably have dwelled on the seafloor. However, the professor contradicts this theory and illustrates that seafloor animals cannot move quickly, hence, they occupy a small amount of area on the seafloor. But, the fossils of agnostids have been found in a variety of areas on the seafloor, hence, they should have been able to move quickly to move far distances.
Finally, the third theory that the passage states is that the agnostids were parasites and living on bigger organisms. But the professor challenges this theory and acclaims that parasites breed a lot of children but, the population of agnostids was not so much. Therefore, agnostids should not have been parasites.
