In this set of materails the reading passage discusses that several reason to critisize the possibility of that the chember structures that found in the Arizina are actually related to bee nest. While, in the listening the professor casts doubt on what is presented in the text and beleives that it is completely possible that this structure were related to bee nest, and the reasons that mentioned in the passage is not convencing.

First of all, in the text it is clearly mentioned that the scientists could not find anty bee fossils that date to 200 million years ago. Thus, this stucture cannot related to bees. However, the professor claims that if we do not find bees fossils older that 200 million years ago, it is not means that the bees werre not present at this time. Because, the bees fossils could produced and preserve if this insects traped into the trees rezin sticky substance and this kind of tree were very rare in 200 million years ago.

In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that the flowering plants were not exist 200 million years ago. And in the absens of flowering plants the bees could not exist because they mainly nuritioned by flowering plants. She says that it is possible that the bees present before flowering plants because the a lot of early bees feed from non flowering plants and also the fren and pontriis.

Finally, in the text it is stated that there is lack on evidence that can supported that this structure are related to bees nest. because this sturture are without cap but the bees nest have it. The professor subscribs that the modern bees produced their nest using some waterproof materials and this matrials are present in this sturctures. Therefore, it is possible that this chamber were related to bees nest.
