In the passage, it is proposed that some skeptics cast doubt that the structures were created by bees. In contrast, the lecturer puts forth that the structures were made by bees.
First of all, in the passage, it is thought to be truth that there are no fossils of bees that can be found. Plus, the earliest found bees' bodies are just half as old as the fossilized structures. Whereas, the professor opposes that the reason why there are no bees' fossils is they were not given conditions to be preserved. Bees' fossils need the liquid produced by a specific kind of trees to be preserved. And those trees might not exist at that time.
Secondly, the absence of flowering plants at that time is presented to be one of the reasons why skeptics think so. Notwithstanding, the professor provides a contradictory point that bees did exist before the presence of the flowering plants. At that time, bees mostly feed on non-flowering plants to survive. Then after the advent of flowering plants, bees started to feed on them.
Thirdly, the skeptics indicates that the structure is lack of details like spiral pattern and stuff like that for modern bee nests are closed by caps that have a spiral pattern. Nevertheless, according to the professor, although the nests found in Arizona are lack of some details. There is a fact that can prove that the skeptics are incorrect which is that those nests all have the same waterproof materials.
