TPO 46- electronic medical records instead of medical paper records
The reading states several advantages about electronic version of medical records and provides three reasons of supports. However, professor declares that all of this advantages are uncertain and refutes each of author's advantages.
First, the article asserts that electronic records eliminates storage and tranfer need and by doing so save money, The professor opposses this poin by saying that doctor need to storing paper records that contain any signature for any legal matters in future and accordingly they should have spending money for storing records even after electronic records.
Second, the author posits that electronic medical records can led to less errors dut to illegible handwriting, unsuitable transcription, and unappropiate organization of papers. In contrast, lecturer states that before tranfering data to electronic version, staffs use pen and paper and then inter information to computers, and accordingly it can be contain some errors.
Thied, the readings declares that electronic version can aid for future research, on the contrary professor cast doubt on this advantage by saying that access to patients medical records is under privacy laws and restricted and need permision of patient under complicated ways and sometimes patients can block any future access to their records.
