The reading claims that the number of frog species decline recently and it has a bad effect on humans' live. So it presents three solutions to prevent this extinction. However, the lecturer finds all ideas which have been mentioned by the reading dubious and provides some evidences to refute them all.

At first place, the author argues that frogs have been killed by pesticides which are used to protect farm crops by farmers. It suggests that the governments must take an action and implement law that prohibits the farmers from utilizing them. In contrast, the professor brings up the idea that this solution is not economic and it seems not fair. The farmers must use them to decrease illnesses on their crops and compete with other farmers. These laws have a severe disadvantages on their lives and they lose more crops and yields.

Furthermore, the reading passage asserts that fungus that has deadly effect kills the frogs and their population decline. It causes thickening their skin and they cannot get water by their skin. So they will die because of dehydration. The scientists find the treatment that kills this fungus with heat. On the contrary, the speaker underlines the fact that this treatment must be done on each frog. So it is very difficult process because they must capture them individually and treat on them. Also they cannot prevent to continuing this disease to next generation and this treatment must be done again and again on new offspring. According to above mention this treatment is so expensive and complex.

Finally the reading passage holds the view that their inhabitant is in dangerous condition because of using people for construction and development. It suggests that water habitats such as lakes and marshes protected from using by people and save the frogs. Conversely, the lecturer dismisses this issue due to the fact that these using do not have disadvantage on their lives. The key problem is global warming that cause of disappearing water on the world. This is unlikely change that threat the frogs' lives and cast many problem for their habitats.
