The article states that humpback whales be navigating by the stars like early human sailors to migrate long distances for feeding and mating goals. However, the professor explains none of the author’s reasons are convincing and rejects them one-by-one.

To begin with, humpback whales are intelligent enough to use stars to find their ways, as the reading claims, is refuted by the professor. He asserts that there is no connection between intelligence and whale’s activities. For examples, some birds were intelligent when they born and they use stars to navigates, but there is no connection between their intelligence and their activities.

Furthermore, according to the essay, animals orient themselves by some external forces or objects. The professor argues that in animal’s mind there is magnetic ability and by this ability they can recognize earth magnetics’ field and find their ways based on that not by navigating stars.

At the end, based on author’s opinion, humpback whales show unnatural behaviors named spy-hopping and they looking at stars to navigate by that. In the contrary the professor shows that there is no connection between spy-hopping and navigating. In marine areas sharks and humpback whales looking for hunt based on spy-hopping and they do not looking at stars specially at nights.
