The lecture and the reading discuss the subject of the use of stars by humpback whales to migrate long distances.
While the reading confirm the use of stars by humpback whales, the professor in the lecture casts doubts on several key beliefs about the theory presented in the reading passage.

First, the reading claims that the humpback whales have intelligence that allow them of using the stars to migrate .However, the lectures argues that , using the stars is not a sign of intelligence and he gave the example that dicks use the stars for navigate and they have moderate intelligence and not a high one.
Second, the professor states that this type of whales have what is called biomagnetide in their bodies which allow them to follow external object in earth magnetic field which help them during migration .
Third, the reading makes the argument that spy hopping done by those whale is a sign of them following the stars , the lecture counters this point by stating that this movement is also done by other animals like sharks for example , and not for following the stars but to hunt .
Finally, the lecture refutes the claim done by the reading that whales use the stars to navigate and migrate by discussing all the points stated InThe lecture and giving specific examples to support his argue.
