tpo 61 Summarize the points made in the lecture being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific theories mentioned in the reading

The reading and the lecturer are both about solutions to the fungus infection of the golden frogs. The author of the article feels that few solutions may contribute to the fungus infection problem. The lecturer disputes the claims made in the article. Her position is that those solutions are not going to be effective.

According to the reading, adapting colonies of a species of bacteria can help frogs resist the infection. In the article, it is said that this bacterium release the chemical that can eliminate fungus. The lecturer challenges this specific argument. She claims that the bacterium protection will not last for a long time. Additionally, she points out that the bacteria only release the chemical substitute at the early stage of forming the colony. When the bacteria stops release the chemical, frogs will lose the protection.

Secondly, the author suggests capturing frogs and grows them, isolating them from the fungus. The article says that frogs can be grown in a no-disease environment and reflourish when they are sent back to their original habitat. The lecturer, however, asserts that a new population that is sent back to nature is not going to be healthy. She goes on to say that frogs may contact other animals that carry or are infected by the fungus and get the infection again.

Finally, the author posits that frogs may form their resistance to the fungus independently. The author contends that some frogs elevate their body temperature in order to counteract the growth of fungus. In contrast, the lecturer's stance is that heating the body to resist fungus may result in frogs becoming weak and unhealthy. She notes that heating up consumes extra energy for frogs, which may weaken their physical well-being.
