The lecture and the reading both discuss the research on actual animal tissues, particularly some discoveries about leg bone of T. rex, one species of dinosaur. While the reading states that the research on T rex's leg bone demonstrates some actual tissues, the lecture refutes this, saying that the reasons are not reliable.

First, the author asserts that the interior discoveries of bone confirm the presence of the branching channels that may be related to the blood vessels, and also finding of flexible organic material was focal point of exploration. Nonetheless, the professor finds this assessment questionable by bringing up the fact that these flexible materials are not certainly the remains of blood vessels. Furthermore, according to the professor, when an animal dies, bacteria colonyze in hollows after long time and the finding of the researchers may be only what is the bacteria left.

In addition, the reading makes the argument that the microscopic examination of inside of the bone illustrated spheres that would be the remains of red blood cells. The lecture counters this point by stating the researchers found this sphere in other animals fossils in that part, which there were no red blood cells in that part when they were alive. According to the professor, this sphere cannot be belong to the red blood cells and it can be made when the animal dies.

Finally, the writer holds that the tests of the scientists show that the dinosaur leg bone contained collagen. In contrast, the professor contradicts this assertion by stating that according to the researchs the collagen cannot remain more than one hundred thousand years. Moreover, the professor says the collagen could be come from other sources like researchers' skin, based on the fact that the human skin contains collagen.
