The speaker, on the other side, who refutes this assertion, claims that consumers will be suspicious even if the new broccoli is based on traditional breeding techniques and states that this project have financial support for the same companies who in the past created genetic modification crops and as a consequence all US consumers will distrust this kind of projects.
Finally, the author claims that having closer hardest of broccoli allows to consumers eat healthier broccolis since vegetable retain most of their benefits when they are eating right after to hardest them. In contrast, the speaker says that this particular argument is not sufficient to create a new type of broccoli and notes that exist other kind of local vegetable that can eat more sooner as for example kale, a leafy green vegetable on the east.
