TPO45: The coin founded in Maine site is genuine?

The reading and the lecture are both about a coin in an archaeological site of maine, United State. The author of the reading cites some archaeologist who are of the opinion that the founded coin is a fake; however, the speaker effectively casts doubt on each and every argument presented by those. In addition, she believes that the coin is not a fake and it is the evidence of that Norse

To begin with, the author puts forward the idea that the coin has been found very far away from the Norse settlement, making any relation unprobable. However, the speaker presents a hole in this idea by highlighting the fact that there are numerous other object that have been found far away. Moreover, she believes that it is perfectly reasonable that they were intrested in travel and they brought coins back with them.

Secondly, the penman claims that the no other coins were found in that site, mentioning that Norse did not bring any coin with them to the north America. Notwithstanding, the lecturer diverges from this point of view, by making it clear that those settlements were not permanent. To add, she mentions that it is perfectly possibel that in some point in the history, they packed all their valuable stuffs and headed back to Europe.

Finally, the essayist suggests that although coins were usefull in Europe for trading, they were probably useless for those people in America. Never would the orator accept this usefullness argument since coins could be used as long as people appreciated their beauty. To elaborate, she says that although coins were not valued as the way we value them right now, but they were unusaul objects and they cound be used in jewelery and neklaces.
