wave-energy
The lecture and the reading passage both discuss about wave-energy as alternative energy. In the lecture, however, the professor casts doubt on the advantages of ocean power, which are describes in the reading.
First, the lecturer argues that it is also hard to predict amount of power which are made by ocean while the reading indicates that wave-energy is believable due to it's sustainability and easy to anticipate. To be more specific, according to the lecture, because wave energy is still developing and ocean where facilities are located has harsh condition, it is easy to break down.
Moreover, in contrast to the claim in the reading that the wave energy's constructions are eco-friendly, the professor insist that it can be also harmful for marine environment as fossil fuel. Because some parts of generator such as turbine and floating converters which are located on the surface of ocean contain toxic materials inside and it is able to pollute near environmental condition.
Finally, according to the reading passage, wave power plant do not give any bad effect to the scenic of the inshore. However, the lecturer maintain that it makes view of ocean bad. Because the floating facilities are colored bright due to noticing it's existence to vessels moving around, people who come to the coast near wave farms also can see it.
