The line graph illustrates the production and consumption of oil in China over the period from the year 1982 to 2006. The unit is measured in millions of oil barrels per day.
Overall, it is clear that amid the time span both indexes have shown quite the opposite behavior each year except in the year around 1992.
Initially, in the year 1982, the production was a bit more compared to the consumption of oil by approximately 1 million barrels daily. Later, the quantity of extracting rose until 1986 by 3 million which then remained stable for almost 6 years where the production collided with consumption for nearly a year.
After the collision, the trend of consumption increased dramatically until the end of the period by 6.5 million barrel, and the opposite was for production were the trend for it got stable. Over the end of the period, the daily consumption of oil got double than its production.
