Both the article and the lecture discuss the doubts whether a specific painting was painted by Rembrandt the famous Dutch painter. She further interpreted that when the fur collar was removed, it was just a simple white collar. The revealed white collar would create the face illumination rather than shadowing.
Lastly, the article provided the fact that none of the other Rembrandt paintings used a panel of small pieces of wood glued together like the one used in this particular painting. The lecture opposes this by ensuring that the wood used in the painting is from the same tree that was used for the wood panel of all his other paintings. Moreover, the lecture stated that this panel was added to the main painting to increase its value just like what happened with the fur collar.
