Reason: When anyone can publish political opinions easily, standards for covering news and political topics will inevitably decline.
The author claims that the quality of political conversations and discussions has deteriorated because of the emergence of the online "blogosphere". The blogosphere has given the right to every individual to express his or her opinion which the writer sights as the reason behind the drop. In my view I don't completely disagree with the author, but I do so to a certain extent.
