TOEFL T P O 26 - Integrated Writing Task

In the case of the first reason, ships can across from waters without zebra mussels! So it will prevent spreading mussels out along new canals built to connect europe's waterways.
The second point is that mussels have not specific predator as an enemy to control their population, but there are species of birds which eat mussels. So mussels' population is reduced by the birds and as they are proliferating, they are declayed.
the third objection, despite of eating plankton and according to the text, causing lack of food for freshwater fish species, mussels generate nutrient, the ingredient of planktons. In the other word, they eat plankton and replace it by themselves!
So zebra mussels' invasion can be control naturely and it is not a threaten to freshwater species. They can not dominant their habitat in new places definitely. May their invasion has some bad effects, but it is not a serious danger to other aquatic species.
