Arctic deer live on islands in Canada's arctic regions. They search for food by moving over ice from island to island during the course of the year. Their habitat is limited to areas warm enough to sustain the plants on which they feed and cold enough, at least some of the year, for the ice to cover the sea separating the islands, allowing the deer to travel over it. Unfortunately, according to reports from local hunters, the deer populations are declining. Since these reports coincide with recent global warming trends that have caused the sea ice to melt, we can conclude that the purported decline in deer populations is the result of the deer's being unable to follow their age-old migration patterns across the frozen sea.
Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

The author has failed to convince us that the declination, which has already occurred in Arctic deers’ population, is for the sake of global warming. Even if the claim may seem logical at first glance, the article lacks illustrative information to prove this claim. The argument, as it stands, is based on questionable assumptions and a faulty line of reasoning, a fact that renders it over-simplistic and unconvincing, also there are terms, which lack definition. In what follows, some evidences, which are necessary to admit the conclusion are expressed and elucidated.

The primary issue with the author’s reasoning lies in his/her unsubstantiated premises. First, the writer contended that they have gathered some information about the aforementioned declination from hunters. However, the question here is “Are hunters alone a good source for collecting the changes occurred in the population of a species? “ In order to have reliable statistics of the population of deer in arctic regions, some other sources of information is needed, take statistical information from environmental researchers as an example.

Second, there is no concrete evidence which proves that this declination is happened among that species for the globalization of hoe weather, maybe these two process just coincide haphazardly and other factors contributes in this phenomenon, for instance, over-hunting or an specific disease or any other possibilities would lead to this happening.

Lastly, the author of the article did not tell anything about the exact time of this happening. A question that might raise here is “From when this declination has been started?” Absolutely, if this declination had happened before global warming phenomenon, there would be other factors that has accelerated this reduction in population of Arctic deer, such as drastic growth of human beings and cities has leaded to decrease Arctic deer habitat.

To warp up, considering all the evidences that has been discussed above, the lack in some premise, reduces the robustness of the conclusion presented in the article. If the author includes all the additional evidences that has introduced so far in this article, the conclusion would have been more thorough and convincing.
