Academic staff percentages in faculties by gender 2012
The above bar graph illustrates the distribution of percentage of male and female staff vs the academic subjects in the year. The academics are divided into 7 different subjects – Arts, Business, education, engineering, law, medicine and, science. X-axis is evenly divided into 20 percentage scaling system.
In medicine, we can see that the percentage of male and female faculties were almost equal, comprising 52% female and 50% male staffs. Engineering has highest percentage (82) of male faculty and least percentage (18) of female faculty. Education has highest percentage (78) of female faculty. Male faculty dominance can be seen in business, engineering, law and science. Female faculty dominance can be seen in arts, education and, in medicine. It is not surprising to see only one gender is occupying 100% of the occupancy in any academic fields and it shows that the education committee provided equal opportunities for both the genders.
The above graph explains the availability of staff per various academic field of study and spreads light on the uneven distribution of faculty in engineering and even distribution of staff in medicine department.
