The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and women attending various evening courses at an adult education centre in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages of these course participants.

Given are the bar charts delineating the figure of the male and female learners taking part in four distinct classes, namely drama, painting, sculpture and language as well as the pie chart depicting the proportion of students categorised in five certain age ranges in a training institution in 2009.
Perceptibly, in all of the subjects, female students were higher in number compared to males, except for sculpture. Furthermore, the older the learners were, the more their percentages were.
From the bar chart, obviously, the number of females in drama and language doubled that of males with 20% and 40% respectively, while the reverse was true for sculpture with 10% of men. Besides, notwithstanding by far the highest figure of men with 25% in painting compared to the other classes, it was still 5% lower than that of the opposite gender.
When it comes to the pie chart, the under-20s accounted for the lowest percentage of the class attendees with 5%, while the opposite was true for the over-50s with 42%. Second in terms of popularity was the 40 to 49-year-olds when 26% was reported, which was 10% and 15% higher than the rate of people in their thirties and twenties in turn.
