The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given bar chart indicates percentage of different age groups of Australian male and female group starting from 15 to 65 and more who were physically fit and active in the year 2010.

To begin, boys at the age of 15 to 24 were more participating towards physical activity, wherein women for that matter were really fit in their late 40s ( 52.8 % and 53.3 % respectively ). Men at the stressful age of 35 to 44 could barely give importance to fitness and it was the lowest of all age groups amounting to only 39.5 %. On the other hand, Australian women had a consistent involvement with no less than 47 % in any age groups. Hardly any difference of 1 % in the senior women and men of 65 and more who wanted to stay healthy during that age.

It is surprising to see that women started getting physically active after their 30s with 48.9 %, 52.5 % and 53 % in the age groups of 25-34, 35-44 and 45-64 respectively. On the contrary, the percentage of Australian men doing physical activity dropped after 24, but their participation hiked fairly over the time up to their seniority age.

In the end, I would reiterate that more Australian women were active physically in their late 30s and mid 50s but men were most active in younger age and fairly fit in the rest of their life. Overall, a good number of both Australian men and women seem to be really healthy compared to other countries.
