The bar chart below shows the percentage of students who passed their high school competency exams, by subject and gender, during the period 2010-2011.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart illustrates the passed percentage of students by gender of the academic year 2010-2011. The bar chart shows information of passed percentage for 6 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Computer science.

The percentage of students passed in Computer science is the highest among the boys which 14.2% greater than girls’ 42.1%. Whereas, majority of the girls passed in Mathematics, which is almost similar to the opposite gender’s percentage of 47.4%. Chemistry recorded the least pass percentage among all the subjects and for the girls as well. While, Mathematics recorded the percentage of total number of students who passed.

History recorded the lowest portion of total number of boys which is the only subject dominated by girls. In this subject the girls pass percentage is 25.6% whereas the boys pass percentage is 22.9%. The percentage of pass students is almost equal for both genders in the subjects Physics and Foreign Languages. Whereas Geography had 22.9% of pass students from girls and 30.4% of boys.
